About the Author

Anna Dewdney was an American author and illustrator of children's books. She is best known for the Llama Llama series, which has sold over 10 million copies worldwide. Dewdney's books have been praised for their gentle humor, heartwarming stories, and beautiful illustrations.

Dewdney was born in 1965 in New York City. She graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1987 with a degree in illustration. After graduation, she worked as a freelance illustrator for several years before publishing her first book, Llama Llama Red Pajama, in 2005. The book was an instant success, and Dewdney went on to write and illustrate over 20 more books in the Llama Llama series.

Dewdney died in 2016 at the age of 50 after a battle with cancer. She left behind a legacy of beloved children's books that continue to bring joy to millions of readers around the world.
