Doggo and Pupper: Doggo and Pupper, Book 1 by Katherine Applegate

In a world where dogs can talk, but humans cannot understand them, Doggo and Pupper are two best friends who live in a small town. Doggo is a big, clumsy dog who is always getting into trouble, while Pupper is a small, shy dog who is afraid of everything. Despite their differences, the two dogs are inseparable.

One day, Doggo and Pupper are playing in the park when they see a group of humans playing with a ball. Doggo wants to join in, but Pupper is too scared. Doggo tries to convince Pupper to play, but Pupper refuses.

Just then, the ball rolls over to Doggo and Pupper. Doggo picks up the ball and runs towards the humans. He is so excited that he doesn't see the rock in front of him. Trip! Doggo stumbles and falls, dropping the ball.

The humans laugh at Doggo, and Pupper is embarrassed. He runs away, and Doggo chases after him.

Doggo and Pupper are both upset. They don't understand why the humans laughed at Doggo. They just wanted to play.

The next day, Doggo and Pupper go back to the park. They see the same group of humans playing with a ball. This time, Doggo is determined to join in.

Doggo walks up to the humans and says, "Can I play?" The humans look at each other and then back at Doggo. They don't say anything.

Doggo tries again. "Please?" he says.

One of the humans finally speaks. "Okay," he says. "You can play."

Doggo is so happy! He runs over to the ball and grabs it. He brings it back to the humans and drops it at their feet.

The humans smile and start to play with Doggo. Pupper watches from the sidelines. He is still scared, but he is happy for Doggo.

Doggo and the humans play for a long time. They have a lot of fun. Pupper eventually joins in the fun. He is glad he overcame his fear.

Doggo and Pupper learn that it doesn't matter if you are different. You can still have fun and make friends.
